Concerned for a child?
If you are concerned about a child’s welfare or if you are a child that needs help, please call your local child protective services agency or your local law enforcement department. OHPSAC cannot receive child abuse reports.
APSAC’s mission is to enhance the ability of professionals to respond to children and their families affected by abuse and violence.
Welcome
The Ohio Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (OHPSAC) is the Ohio affiliate of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (APSAC), a national organization whose mission is to enhance the ability of professionals to respond to children and families affected by abuse and violence. APSAC tries to fulfill this mission in a number of ways, most notably through providing education and other sources of information to professionals who work in child maltreatment and related fields.
OHPSAC is a non-profit 501 (C)(3) organization and is operated by a volunteer Board of Directors. OHPSAC does accept tax-deductible donations that we use to provide training for professionals in Ohio. OHPSAC is not a direct service provider and has no paid staff or paid board members. We are a professional membership organization that works with child abuse investigators and treatment professionals to improve outcomes for all kids in Ohio. We cannot provide consultation or advocacy to individuals or families directly. Please contact your local law enforcement agency or child protective services agency if you are concerned about the well-being of a child.
Members of OHPSAC include medical, behavioral health, law enforcement, social work, legal, academic, research, and other professionals that have an interest in protecting children in Ohio. Benefits of membership include professional education and development opportunities, networking and cross training opportunities and direct access to many of the brightest minds in the child protection field in Ohio. Membership of APSAC and being an Ohio resident make you an automatic member of OHPSAC. Click here to learn more about membership.
